Md. Voter Turnout Appears Lowest On Record

From WJZ.com, depressing news that the turnout in Tuesday's primary election was the lowest on record in the state of Maryland (records go back to 1982).

It took a bit of digging around, but I found the actual records by statewide and county. Here are the results for statewide turnout by county, and then individual county results for Anne Arundel County, Baltimore County, and Baltimore City. Other counties can be found here.

No doubt officials from various campaigns (Ehrlich and O'Malley, for sure) will be taking a look at turnout numbers to update their goals and projections for November.  While turnout will inevitably increase for a general election, the O'Malley campaign may be concerned by the low turnout in the state's most populous (and most Democratic) counties that all lagged below the state average.
