Suspicious Death in Laurel

On October 1, 2010, at approximately 5:30 a.m., officers from the Western District responded to the 3300 block of Cranberry South in Laurel for a report of a sick or injured subject.

Upon arrival, officers located the body of a male victim just off of the roadway. Fire department personnel pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. The victim, Roy Jackson, 41, of the 3300 block of Sudlersville South in Laurel, was suffering from apparent trauma to the upper body. Detectives from the Major Crimes Section Homicide Unit responded to the scene to assume responsibility for the investigation. The victim was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy to be performed. Detectives are investigating this case as a suspicious death. At this time, the investigation is ongoing.
