Amnesty box oops

On some of the larger bases (like here in Baghdad for example) they have something called an "Amnesty Box" which is basically a place to put stuff you're not supposed to have ("contraband"). They most often end up being filled with ammunition that was dropped or lost by someone.

I happened to be walking past one of these Amnesty boxes yesterday when two soldiers, whose job it was to empty the amnesty box, were doing just that. I saw the usual assortment of misplaced ammunition and asked if they had found anything interesting. The one soldier replied immediately saying, "Yeah, an MP5."
