A woman told Anne Arundel County police that she was robbed outside a Severn Walmart.
The incident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. Monday. The woman, who is 40 years old, told police that she parked in front of the store's garden center and exited her vehicle.
She was approached from behind by a man who held an object to the back of her head, and the man took her purse, police said.
The culprit was described as about 5 feet 4 inches tall. He was wearing black tennis shoes and a dark sweatshirt with the hood up.
He was last seen running toward a nearby Chick-Fil-A restaurant.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Anne Arundel County Police Department.
